Abstract
This article examines the processes of collective action for the defense of water in the Mexicali region. The study emphasizes on a recent episode that induced a socio-environmental conflict related to the Constellation Brands brewing megaproject, with intensive water use in a region experiencing prolonged drought. To analyze this issue, the conceptual framework of Democratic Environmental Governance and the Action Research methodology under a qualitative approach were used.
