Abstract
Several injuries associated to the sprinter have been documented; however, the chronic implications of athletics practice in the structure of the foot have not been detailed. A study described a 42.8% prevalence of supine/cavus foot in speed athletes realized by Hernández Corvo's method. The objective was to establish the prevalence of morphological alterations in the sprinter's foot in a transversal descriptive study, in the period of time between february to april of 2019, with a non-probabilistic sample for a convenience population, in which, anthropometric and sociodemographic variables, sprint training related variables, foot posture index and the Hernandez Corvo's Method were considered, to identify abnormal morphological patterns in the sprinter's feet . The 12 sprinters sample revealed. 100% of the participants presented some alteration in the right foot, and 92% in the left foot. 16 feet (29.09% of total alterations) of the 24 feet examined was classify as talus valgus. 67%, of the right feet and 66.66% of the left feet inspected was classify as valgus. In conclusion, there are morphological alterations on feet with conti- nuous training, valgo and varo mainly, that could modify the sprinters performance if they are not considered on the correct training
