Abstract

The article explores the redhibition** related to disease of a slave named Juana de la Cruz in the colonial Quere-taro in 1718. The objective of the article is to explore the importance of redhibition documents as a first-hand source for the study of the disease and slavery in Que-retaro in the XVIII century. The results pointed out the complex relationship of slaves with diseases such as tu-berculosis and the relationship between physicians and the Protomedicato of New Spain
