The cuban culture in the seventies: A critical look at a black decade

Abstract

This academic work is the result of the thesis report for the master's degree in Hispanic Studies at the University of Cádiz. It broadly addresses the cultural policy of the seventies of the twentieth century in Cuba and its impact on the intelligentsia and society in a general sense. An analysis of the main political and social events is carried out, which were the genesis of the cultural problems of the moment and of the most significant debates about culture that had been materializing strongly since the previous decade. To understand this complex period, it is also vital to study the main documents that govern Cuban cultural policy at the time, which are fully in force today.
