Abstract
Architecture is an interdisciplinary field of knowledge that can interact with social sciences for its development. Such is the case of the application of knowledge of Philosophy and Anthropology, whose methodological strategies and approaches to the problems perceived in the environment can provide the architect with valuable information for the design of public spaces. The pre- sent work seeks to explore some alternatives and tools available to the designer to obtain relevant information about the interaction between users and the context in which they operate, without resorting to the traditional surveys and interviews used on a daily basis. By means of the insertion of objects with specific characteristics as tools in the space, it is sought to generate interaction between the user and the object, in order to obtain data that allow the designer to generate design proposals according to the real needs of the space. For this, anthropological tools are used, through non-participant observation as a method to better understand the interaction generated between individuals and the inserted object, to later translate the information collected in proposals for socio-spatial modification, which contribute to the improvement of the interactions generated in the space at the collective level. The project shows that it is possible to obtain relevant information from the context without the need to directly address users, depending on the ability of the researcher to transform subjective information into objective data, since the type of information obtained arises in part from unconscious representations, translated into behavioral traits and needs at the collective level, these being the most relevant for the position posed when designing the public spaceReferences
