Abstract

The article exposes the representation of still life and explains the difference between the concepts still life and tableau. Through documentary and visual analysis of images, it is explained that the representation of the human body in still life is scarce. In some pictorial works, still life or still life is present as a prop of the scene, where the human body interacts with food or objects. Photography exposes a horizontal relationship; that is, equal to equal, between the human body and objects or food, which is why the human body acquires relevance in the genre of still life or still life. This analysis allows us to glimpse that the human body and objects together configure a new categorical proposal in the genre of still life and enable a new system of meaning.
