THE DEVELOPMENT OF A SUB-NATIONAL TERRITORY. A COMPLEX PROBLEM

Abstract

The perspective of complexity is a territory in dispute, diverse
traditions feed it and scientists from multiple disciplines
configure it. However, there is a common thought:
there are problems that cannot be solved alone by the
scientific disciplines inherited from the nineteenth century.
This article took up the ideas of Edgar Morín and Nikklas
Luhmann. From them and the reflections of authors
linked to them, the reasons why the development of a
sub-national territory is a complex problem are exposed.
To strengthen this argument, an theorethical exercise is
carried out on how to explore subnational development
from this perspective.
