Abstract
This essay analyzes the transition of the political party Movimiento de Regeneración Nacional (MORENA) from a transformative political movement to an institutionalized organization oriented toward electoral maximization. Drawing on theoretical approaches to party institutionalization, populism, and political representation, it examines the tension between its left wing humanist narrative and the progressive incorporation of political elites linked to the neoliberal order. It argues that this process has led to a reconfiguration of the political bloc, as well as a symbolic fracture between party leadership and its original social base.
