Abstract

One of the most important questions that humanity has is related with if plants can feel, and if so, how they feel. The numerous scientific studies that exist on plants show enormous differences between their anatomy and that of animals, as well as the way in which they feel and respond to the environment. Despite not having a nervous system exactly like that of humans, plants have electrical responses to several physical stimuli, which are generated and propagated by the plant in different ways. These electrical signals and the probable ways in which they can help us understand how plants feel are currently being studied. This article will provide information on the types of electrical signals that exist in plants, and their potential applications.
