Digital Ciencia@UAQRO (ISSN 2395-8847) is a biannual scientific journal edited by Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro through its Dirección de Investigación y Posgrado. Its objective is to provide an open and multidisciplinary space for researchers and specialists from all over Ibero America that fosters academic exchanges and debates. Its contents are directed at the scientific community in general, as well as undergraduate and graduate students interested in topics belonging to diverse areas of knowledge such as Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Education and Behavioral Sciences, Political and Social Sciences, Chemical and Biological Sciences, Legal Sciences, Health Sciences and Agricultural Sciences.
Digital Ciencia@UAQRO publishes its issues biannually, in January and July of each year. The journal combines monographic content, coordinated by guest editors who specialize in the topic at hand, and open-call applications. The entirety of the editorial management process is held through the OJS platform. With respect to its peer-review system, the journal curates its contents objectively and ethically through the participation of external reviewers, double blind peer review processes and the implementation of the ethical principles of the Committee on Publicaction Ethics (COPE). The works admitted are:
- Research papers. It entails the presentation of the findings from concluded research, which was made through rigorous examination of the literature as well as a consistent methodology.
- Review papers. “It is a type of scientific article that, without being original, collects the most relevant information on a specific theme. Its aim is to examine the published literature and analyze it from a particular perspective” [Translated from Spanish] (Vera, 2009, p. 63).
* The journal only admits works submitted in Spanish. It does not admit essays, reviews or opinion pieces, as well as any article without solid theorical and methodological basis.
Digital Ciencia@UAQRO publishes its content as open access material under the Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International license (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0), which means it is available to the user without any charges. Additionally, the journal authorizes and encourages the authors to openly disseminate their articles in institutional repositories, social media and academic databases. In accordance with this, Digital Ciencia@UAQRO embraces open science as the best practice to ensure the proper dissemination of research findings to society. The journal does not impose any article processing charges (APCs).
Sections
Presentación Editorial (Presentation). It is the description of the theme, the objective and the contents of the issue written by the editor.
Temática (Thematic). It entails research papers or review articles that cover the theme of the issue.
Miscelánea (Miscellaneous). It entails research papers or review articles that are not related to the theme of the issue, but that belong to one of the areas of knowledge covered by the journal (Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Education and Behavioral Sciences, Political and Social Sciences, Chemical and Biological Sciences, Legal Sciences, Health Sciences and Agricultural Sciences). The call for submissions of this section is open permanently.
Metadata policy
Digital Ciencia@UAQRO will ensure to declare sufficient, standardized, and consistent metadata in order to optimize the location, deposit, indexation, interoperability and use of the published articles and issues data. The journal uses the Dublin Core standard in compliance with the guidelines set in the Indexation for OJS Handbook: Good Practices for the Latin American Region (Flores Chávez, 2023). Sufficiency and consistency of all data will be verified by the journal’s editorial team prior to the content’s publication. The journal captures the following metadata: title, authors, ORCID, institutional affiliation, DOI, abstract and keywords in both Spanish and English, references, language, source, copyright, licensing, publisher and publication date.
Digital Ciencia@UAQRO provides an OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) interface to make metadata of published contents available to other information systems and services.
