How to Cite
Abstract
Based on a reflection on the concepts of narration, information, and spectacle, this article explores the potential of digital storytelling for community empowerment and participation. The main reference point is a project aimed at building safe environments for children and adolescents in a rural community located in central Mexico. The analysis of this case and the conducting of unstructured interviews aimed to understand whether digital stories contribute to the connection of experiences and the building of community or, on the contrary, they serve to transform lived experience into mere information or spectacle.
