About the Journal

Presentation

HArtes (ISSN: 2954-470X) is an open access biannual publication edited by the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro through the Facultad de Artes. The journal focuses on the dissemination and production of knowledge in the field of arts and humanities. Its issues are published electronically and include scholarly articles, critical essays, translations and/or reviews in PDF format, as well as XML. The Submissions of texts written in Spanish or English are allowed, with the requirement that they be original and that they respect the Editorial Policies.

The publication takes place in January and July, giving a total of two issues each year. For academic articles and critical essays, a double-blind peer review process is carried out, with external arbitration and using anti-plagiarism software. Translations and reviews are assessed internally by the Editorial Committee. The final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of manuscripts, in both cases, is made by the editors of the journal with the support of the Editorial Committee and considering the opinions made by the peer reviewers. Purpose

This project was created with the objective of becoming a space of reference, dialogue and dissemination for the academic work developed from the different disciplines that comprise the arts and humanities. HArtes seeks to deploy the research potential of both the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro and various academic institutions, with the purpose of generating communication networks between nationally and internationally renowned research institutions. These networks are expected to have the capacity to broaden and strengthen artistic and humanistic knowledge.

 

Scope

HArtes is aimed at the specialized community of researchers, academics and students of the university, as well as other regional, national and international institutions, whose object of study is focused on the arts and humanities. The journal aims to be a meeting point between these different prestigious research institutions, and therefore seeks the participation of Mexican and foreign researchers.

 

Mission

To foster, promote and share scientific knowledge derived from critical research in order to contribute to the analysis of the diverse discussions and contemporary issues that arise within the arts and humanities. 

 

Vision

To position the journal HArtes in the national and international academic panorama as an accessible, reliable and high quality source for the publication, consultation and support of scientific texts related to the study of the arts and humanities.

 

Open Access and Copyright Notice

HArtes is fully funded by the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro and does not charge any fee to its authors for publishing in its issues. The contents published in this journal are fully accessible and usable according to its Open Access and Reuse Policy. Likewise, authors are invited to share and deposit their works once they have been published, always respecting the Repository and Self-Archiving Policy.

All text published in HArtes journal is subject to its Copyright Policy and conditions of publication, as well as its Digital Preservation Policy.

 

General guidelines

Manuscript submissions must be made through the journal's online platform under the Submissions tab. Submissions by other means will not be accepted. Once the manuscript has been submitted, the author will receive an acknowledgement of receipt. Subsequently, the author will be informed whether or not the text will be submitted to the arbitration process.

All papers proposed for publication must comply with the Guidelines for Authors. They must also be original, unpublished and in Word or WordPerfect (.doc or .docx) format. Likewise, they must not be submitted simultaneously to another arbitration or publication process.

The submission of a text for publication in HArtes magazine implies that the author is aware of and complies with the Code of Ethics, and agrees to make any modifications that may be requested at the time of accepting the submission and throughout the editing process.

The Editorial Committee of the journal reserves the right to directly reject papers that do not comply with the above indications and/or with our Editorial Policies.

The content of the published articles is the responsibility of each author and does not represent the point of view of HArtes journal.

 

Use of Interoperability Protocols

HArtes performs editorial management from the Open Journal System (OJS) and provides an OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative - Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) interface that allows other portals and information services to access the metadata of published content.
