Abstract
This work addresses the Celebration of the Day of the Dead in 2019 in Santiago Mexquititlán from a cultu- ral and political approach. The intention was to know the cultural elements and their ritual expression, as well as to expose their reactivation in the framework of a community conflict. Theoretical-conceptual ar- guments of the Theory of Cultural Control and the procedural analysis of the rite were used, as well as elements of Participatory Action Research and ethno- graphic techniques for its documentation.
