Abstract
Corruption is a broad and complex phenomenon, with multiple consequences: increased social inequality, violation of the rule of law, poor quality of public services, and undermining of democracy. One of the direct effects of corruption is the impoverishment of governance and the deterioration of the exercise of democracy and citizen participation. This text begins with the question: What are the criteria for evaluating good governance? Is there a relationship between good governance and democracy?
