Abstract
The consumption of psychoactive substances (CPS) is a public health issue. It is known that an early start in CPS increases the risk of developing addictions. This research aimed to measure the prevalence and patterns of CPS among secondary school students. The study was quantitative with a representative sample in Amealco to 553 students. The substance most commonly consumed is alcohol (59.29%) in parties, homes, and the street. Tobacco has been consumed by 20.65%, marijuana by 7%, and other drugs by 5.83%. It is essential to develop public policies to mitigate this issue; we made some notes to guide actions.
