Editorial

Abstract

In its fourth edition, Albores offers a varied and complex overview of the emerging discussions and concerns within the fields of social sciences, media studies, and the humanities—topics that can be approached from the perspective of sociocultural studies, which focus on the processes of transformation and change occurring across different areas of social and cultural life. From this perspective, cultural studies consider two aspects—both implicit and explicit—in the articles and essays included in this edition: history and culture as the backdrop of the themes addressed. To these, we must add a third aspect: context. The context in which these writings were produced reveals that the theoretical and disciplinary approaches taken range from sociology, communication, political science, and social anthropology, to literature.
