Abstract
This text presents a reflection on the advantages and the need to develop theoretical models in teaching. It shows how the methodological process of searching for regularities has allowed the development of Science and Education. Likewise, it is suggested that efforts to generalize and systematize practices provide the teacher with tools for his daily work, which he even uses implicitly.
