Abstract

This paper analyzes the complex narrative of Mexican writer Amparo Dávila, who dared to break with the traditional topics of women's literature and ventured into the boundaries of the fantasy genre, creating fictional worlds that dimension the problems of human relationships. Her stories confront the terror of reality, the love and heartbreak that kill and the inner demons. My study starts from the theory of hypertextuality of Gérard Genette, and the feminist theoretical proposals of Judith Butler and Rosi Braidotti; which I apply in the review of the volume Cuentos reunidos, Amparo Dávila (2017), which includes the books Música concreta (1964), Tiempo destrozado (1959), Árboles petrificados (1977) and Con los ojos abiertos (unpublished until this publication). I also review the nomadic configuration of her female characters and the handling of multiple alterities, resources with which the author resignifies the possibilities of becoming a woman.
