Abstract

Lynching is a type of collective violence that gradually, and without hesitation, has made itself present in the daily life of Mexico. In this context, and two decades after the first effort that established a milestone in the study of the subject (CNDH, 2002), it is necessary to rethink some fundamental aspects, such as its definition, classification, and criminalization. Thus, the purpose of this work is to examine the most relevant research in the country and establish a dialogue that indicates possibilities and limitations of approaching lynchings today.
