Abstract
The binomial common dissociation between theory and practice in some concepts of mathematics, have given to this science a false reputation of exclusivity for special minds. The approach of mathematical concepts from real situations, mathematizing reality is a way to bring these to a wider audience, which is attracted to the applications they can have in different contexts. In this paper, the results observed in applying mathematics realistic approach to the issue of vectors with students from 5th semester of high school are presented, mathematizing (modeling) a pair of regular polyhedra. Also is rescued the teacher’s role as facilitator and guide to the student’s learning.
