Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to point out some of the most common errors in characterization and typing made by CECYTEM students when they are solving linear equations in one variable in physical-mathematical field. To carry out this research it was applied a diagnostic test to 30 students which was applied on February 16th, 2023, at the school facilities. Some qualities found by characterization were randomly attempting to determine the value of the unknown quantity. unknown, associate the number that goes with the unknown quantity as its value, stand the addition of a variable and a number as a product, separate a product, and express it as a sum and the last one found was the failure to employ proper algebraic language. In the other hand according to typification terminology it was found in the sample that 59.52% of the errors were to poor learning, 19.04% accuracy of thought, 9.54% illogically deductions, 7.14% math language problems and 2.38% unintelligible concepts, as well a lack of results verification.
