Abstract

The continuous advancement of technology has transformed the way knowledge is shared and consumed. In the educational field, digital tools have developed rapidly, thus creating dynamic educational websites with sophisticated interfaces and functionalities to perform complex tasks, such as educational repositories. This is where design comes into play, since in order to design these digital spaces, it is necessary to study how users interact with these interfaces to generate optimal experiences. Thus, this work proposes the design of the user experience of the Learning Objects Repository of the Faculty of Arts (ROA-UAQ). To do this, the phases of analysis, conceptual design, prototype design and evaluation were implemented. In the analysis, data collection techniques such as interviews and surveys were executed to build proto personas, and a competition analysis. In the conceptual design, Personas and scenarios were designed, and content hierarchization tests such as card sorting were carried out. In the prototype design, low-quality prototype proposals and cognitive user journeys were evaluated with experts, to design high-quality prototypes in Figma based on atomic design and usability principles. Finally, the design was evaluated with heuristic tests and user tests out loud. To conclude, this research offers evidence of how design intervenes through a systematic process in educational projects, to go from the identification of user needs to the design of usable interfaces, with the purpose of offering optimal experiences.
