Política antiplagio

The texts published in HArtes must be original and unpublished. To guarantee this, all submissions will be analyzed using the Turnitin software and the editors will evaluate the results as part of the first review of each manuscript. In this way, plagiarism and similarities will be detected, and it will also be confirmed that the manuscripts are unpublished and that the referenced resources are duly cited or paraphrased. If the analysis shows between 15% and 25% of coincidences, the case will be submitted for internal review with the Editorial Committee, and the author will be contacted if necessary to make the final decision. In the case of an analysis with a percentage higher than 30%, the article will be rejected.

In the event that the article or data included in a text (tables or figures) come from theses published in institutional repositories, the authors must expressly acknowledge the thesis as the source of the work, tables and/or figures. In the case of a co-authored thesis, all authors must be aware of and agree to the publication of the article. On the other hand, the rules on copyright must be respected, as well as the policies on publication and availability of theses declared by the respective universities and institutions. Given this situation, the editors will ensure that, when an article derived from a thesis is published, a footnote on the first page acknowledging the thesis as the source of the work will be included in order to avoid duplicate publication. The footnote must indicate: the name of the thesis, all persons involved (if co-authored), the university (including institutions that may have financially supported the research) and the URL of the repository where it is available for consultation.

Authors commit themselves to send quality works guaranteeing that they are original and that the text has not already been published, compromised or in any editorial or publication process in any other media, whether printed or digital. A manuscript cannot be considered original if it is a fragment of an already published work or if there are clear indications of self-plagiarism. If the text contains direct quotations and/or paraphrases to works of the same author(s), these should be brief and not cover more than 15% of the text.

Authors are obliged to support their articles and critical essays with truthful, reliable, updated and relevant sources for the disciplinary fields in which their texts are included. In addition, all quotations and paraphrases must be properly identified following the APA 7th Edition Standards, always adding the resources consulted in the “References” section, adhering to the same standards. In the case of translations, they should not be published in the language in which they are intended to be published in the HArtes journal. Plagiarism is inappropriate and unethical, therefore, if any text incurs in this bad practice and is identified before, during or after the editing and publication process, the work will be rejected or retracted from the platform as appropriate.
