Abstract

In aquaculture, fish feed has been identified as one of the most important factors, however, it covers the highest percentage of
production costs. Because of this, the food industry has chosen to look for new alternatives for fish feed. In turn, this search has
enabled the creation of new biobusinesses involved in food development. This work describes the problems related to food in aquaculture and the emerging alternative supplies, also it presents a proposal for a pilot tilapia food plant along with a brief financial analysis to carry it out.
