Abstract
This research is a partial product of the project “Tourist development in Manzanillo”, it is focused on the Las Brisas area with the purpose of identifying the characteristics of street food businesses in this area as elements that contribute to economic development and tourism-social services in Manzanillo. For decades, the tourist development of this destination has been managed by large national and international hotel groups, with the predominance of the “all-inclusive” model and restricting local tourist consumption. In addition, this has concentrated the “hotels area” mostly on the coastal avenue Miguel De la Madrid, leaving many local businesses without the opportunity of providing services to visitors and excluding locals from some spaces since consumption in these “ touristic areas” maintains very high costs.
