Abstract
This article aims to analyze the mechanisms that generate short novel by Fernanda Trías (Uruguay, 1976), through a study of her book La Azotea (2001). Ricardo Piglia's proposals on the relationship between this narrative genre and secret as a textual mechanism, as well as the ambiguity of the narrators' discourse and its relationship with the preceding literary tradition, are the axis of this work. Through these mechanisms, the author places herself into a line of subjectivity that crosses the progressive isolation that society promotes, questioning family as the first social nucleus, investigating the hidden mechanics of The Society of Transparency proposed by Byung Chun.
