Abstract
The study of unpaid care work requires a multidimensional analysis that can be obtained through the implementation of complex systems. It is proposed that this approach could provide understanding regarding the complexity of the social phenomenon. The methodology developed included three analysis dimensions, political, economic and sociospacial. The analysis discussion provides insight on the elements, connections and interdependence relationships among the selected dimensions that surround the unpaid care work system. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the complex systems approach allows a deeper understanding of the complexity involved in social phenomena, such as unpaid care work.
