The importance of Didactics of Mathematics in times of pandemic

Abstract

This text presents a reflection on the importance of Mathematics Didactics as a discipline whose studies on learning allow to increase knowledge about the teaching of Mathematics. It is suggested that part of this importance resides in the fact that actions to improve the teaching and learning of Mathematics (and Sciences) can positively impact the development of students, as members of society, for taking decisions that have direct consequences on their lives in areas such as their health, their economy, their social participation, and so on.
