Abstract
In this paper a proposed genetic decomposition of the reduction method, used to solve systems of linear equations, is developed. First an introduction to the APOS theory is given and based on this a genetic decomposition is developed. Then the characteristics of the systems and the students considered for the work are described and the development, step by step, of the Genetic Decomposition is made. The article represents an excerpt of a research work for a master's thesis, whose objective is to design a didactic proposal for the teaching of joint solution of systems of linear equations, using the APOS theory as a theoretical and methodological framework. Therefore, this work leaves the door open to carry out the validation of the genetic decomposition and, subsequently, the didactic proposal based on this.
