Abstract

The present article has as objective to analyze the work Paradox of praxis I by Francis Alÿs from the hermeneutics of Hans-Georg Gadamer. The autor uses three important figures, the game, the symbol, and the party, as significant parts in the dialogue that occurs in art with the viewer and the work. Is analyzed from hermeneutics as an ontological process of understanding the world and the subject. Since art is considered a language, the interaction that takes place is a conversation in wich the person who participates in the art festival interprets from its symbolic horizon what he lives by giving his interpretation of said experience.
