Raw materials and production processes to obtain sustainable aviation fuel in México

Abstract

Today, the aviation sector faces one of its main challenges: sustainable economic recovery. For this, various strategies have been proposed, among which sustainable aviation fuel stands out. This biofuel can be produced from any type of biomass, through different processing routes. At an international level, several countries have begun to establish industrial production of this biofuel. However, in Mexico this industry is still incipient. Therefore, this paper proposes the raw materials and the processing routes with the greatest feasibility of industrial implementation in Mexico for the production of sustainable aviation fuel. This will allow to focus the efforts of the scientific, industrial and governmental community, which will contribute to the establishment of the supply chain for this biofuel, as well as to the eventual sustainable recovery of the countr
