Abstract
Mexican public universities have incorporated ICTs in educational processes to improve their coverage and quality. The distance
modality has attended the immediate operation, and the needs and has made official technological tools, but it did not increase
the offer or the coverage. The objective is to recover coincidences between the unconventional models of public universities, based on three criteria: academic, regulatory and technological. We analysed web pages and official documents of 10 universities in the country. Differences were found between universities located in the same region, and their models do not always include non-contact modalities.
