Abstract
At the beginning of 1771 the Moral Theology class was arranged, and it was registered in a school record, which revision allowed getting to know this particular event. For its analysis and reading, the paleographic transcription was performed and some aspects were taken into account such as: previous studies, San Carlos’ statutes and references regarding this tercentenary University. This paper has a description of the document and highlights the main moments which happened in the opposition. The result of this work allow us to explore the school’s dynamic of the XVII century, to put into evidence the value of the record as a primary source
and in its original context, since outside of it, credit of the awarding of this class had been given to the Dominican whom participated in the opposition, furthermore this helps to build the historiographic reconstruction of the Real University of San Carlos. It belongs to the collection of the Antique Book Museum nowadays.
