Abstract

This article presents the relationship of the writer’s archive with the author’s notion in two Latin American writers, Roberto Bolaño and Gabriel García Márquez. It will be shown how, through the different treatment of the writer’s archive by patrimonial heirs and others, a different relationship and configuration has been created with respect to the concept of author, taking it from the point of view of Foucault as a discursive instance. In its argument, some definitions of the archive will be taken into account, as well as addressing some theories of Roger Chartier regarding the proliferation of textual materialities.
