Abstract

This paper proposes to offer some reflexions based on postmodern aesthetics, mainly on the aspect that underlines the significance of the construction of the subject as a narrative entity, in order to delve into the analysis of one of Mario Bellatin’s recent works, Carta sobre los ciegos para uso de los que ven (2017). This analysis limits to reveal the importance of the motif of blindness as physical disability, as origin of the narration, and as poetics, that is, body representation as origin of anomalies, the configuration of the narrative subject, and the metanarrative characteristic of the text. The aim of this paper is to draw attention to a series of apparent contradictions, in other words, dialectical oppositions on which the author constructs the narrative world.
