Abstract

In this work an analysis and simulation of absorption refrigeration system operating with water-lithium bromide as working fluid using solar energy, has been realized. A verification of the developed model was made in a computational software, EES (Engineering Equation Solve), to determine properties of working fluid. Results show it is possible to take advantage of solar energy of Guanajuato city in Mexico for an absorption refrigeration system. A property chart of the brine is shown with the aim to obtain an acceptable performance avoiding the crystallization zone. The coefficient of performance of 0.8 and a solar coefficient of performance of 0.4 were obtained, these values are agree with literature review.
