Abstract
The anatomical characteristics of the black soldier fly larvae allow us to understand if the development that it has during their culture in tomato plant residues is being adequate. In this study, the highest larvae weight was obtained in the fruit residue, while the lowest larvae weights were found in the larvae fed with stems; This being where the highest mortality interval occurred, followed by the leaves and fruits. On the other hand, the length of the larvae presented a size gradient, the smallest larvae were presented in the stem, leaf and finally fruit; However, the largest ones were obtained from the control treatment. In terms of larval width was 4 mm for all tomato plant residues and doses, while the control presented values close to 5 mm.
