The displacement of the graphic image and its expanded field in contemporary artistic creation: from the act to the graphic unconscious

Abstract

First of all, this paper proposes a series of concepts and theories to approach the different processes of creation of the contemporary graphic image, especially from its displacement towards other artistic practices, without losing its own meaning and aesthetic value. But what does the idea of displacement in the graphic image mean? In this regard, this "displacement" allows the graphic image to acquire new dimensions of representation and visual discourse. In the same way, a reflection is proposed on how the new artistic practices have displaced the graphic arts towards new technical and conceptual territories, which has allowed the emergence of a graphic art with new plastic and conceptual elements.
