Abstract

In 2000 at the Palermo convention in Italy, the Protocol to prevent, repress and punish human trafficking was issued, as an instrument that emerged to eradicate crimes related to human trafficking among its member States. However, the legislative system eventually does not consider that the dynamics of transnational trade in women for forced marriages meet the characteristics listed in the protocol, and, therefore, remain unpunished, perpetuating these acts that threatens freedom.  That is why, the objective of this article is exposing what these dynamics consist of, their similarities and particularities shared in diverse contexts, mainly presenting the current operations of recruitment, transfer and sale of women in East Asia and Southeast Asia, placing them within the international definition of human trafficking, hoping that the text, based on theory, joins the actions that promote changes within world organizations for the fulfillment of justice in favor of the common good.
