Abstract

The purpose of this article is to identify the environmental conflicts that most affect the Cauca river and its consequences during its passage through the special district of Cali during the years 2006 - 2007. For the development of this research, a characterization of the river was carried out Cauca from the review, selection, compilation and systematization of journalistic news from the local, regional and national press, which showed that the Cauca river is affected by discharges of wastewater of all kinds, solid waste, leachate and there is a high demand for drinking water in the city, since the river is the main provider of the vital liquid for the population that lives there.
