Abstract
This research attempted to reduce prejudice towards the perceived parental competence of homosexual parents and to compare towards which type of partner (gay or lesbian) there is greater prejudice. A sample of 30 heterosexual subjects was used. The design was a three-group quasi-experimental design: experimental group 1 watched a video about the story of a lesbian couple with children; experimental group 2 watched a video of gay men with children; and the control group watched a video about a musical performance. Subsequently, each participant performed an accountability of his or her bias. All three groups were assessed with the Perceived Parental Competence Scale for Homosexual Parents (ECPP-PH). No significant differences were found between the
groups. However, this article analyzes different variables such as age, gender stereotypes, religiosity, social desirability and Venezuelan family and culture that could have influenced the results obtained.
