Abstract

This article describes the causes and effects of extreme poverty in Torreón (Coahuila) from multidimensionality, using a mixed approach, with a descriptive-exploratory and transversal scope whose measurement and data collection instrument was the semi-structured survey. taking 150 participants of both sexes as the unit of analysis. Within the findings of the study, it was found that approximately 83.7% of households are in multidimensional poverty, 61% of the participants are engaged in informal commerce and 64% are unemployed. On the other hand, 25% of the participants do not have sufficient income to satisfy the basic household basket. 34% of homes do not have access to drinking water regularly. From this, it is concluded that public policies are not efficient to solve the socioeconomic difficulties in the La Unión ejido during the period 2022-2023, which leads us to establish some recommendations to reverse the existing social problems in the area worked on. the country.
