Abstract
This text corresponds to the result of the work from the perspective of Latin American Studies, using comparison as a methodological tool. In this case, two different cities are analyzed; separated by their geographical location and their history and with a completely different socio-economic context. Despite the contrasts, both uphold something in common: the growth of the Pentecostal movement as it goes beyond religious structures and institutions by impacting the social environment and becoming embedded in other spheres of the community. The cities studied are Valparaíso, Chile and San Cristóbal de las Casas, Mexico.
