Abstract
This work accounts for two moments, in the first instance it raises a reflection on the significant and important of the historical development of education in Mexico, making mention of the various reforms made to the third article of the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States. In a second moment, being the central thesis of this work, the conceptual implications of educational quality and excellence are addressed, making mention of the debate that both generate in the way of how to materialize
teaching to achieve an ideal basic education with a humanistic perspective.
