Abstract
This article aims to detail the development of a public primary school called 12 de October, located in the metropolitan area of the city of Oaxaca, during the COVID 19 pandemic and the pospandemic. The reconstruction of the phenomenon begins with the call to continue distance classes and ends with the full return to in-person presence in early/mid-2022. It focuses on different issues, such as distance classes in a context of economic vulnerability, the school-family link, the debate on the return to inperson presence and strategies to mitigate the educational effects of the pandemic. The research was designed as a case study and qualitative data
construction techniques were used, such as the use of semi-structured interviews with people from the school. One of the conclusions of the article is that the pandemic had negative effects on school life.
