Abstract
The social risks arising from climate change raise the need for new approaches to environmental policy and governance. In this perspective, one of the new veins of theoretical and empirical exploration is based on the precautionary principle, which could innovate the processes of risk assessment and management within the institutional frameworks of governance in this field.
